Meet the artist

My name is Marzia Alesini I'm a self-taught ceramist based in Singapore, hailing from a family of architects. My artistic journey began amid the displays in my parents' Italian showroom, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of design.

My background as a former architect and painter shapes my perspective as a highly visual person, drawing inspiration from the intricate tapestry of nature, objects in my home, as well as the pages of magazines and books.

Each piece is unique and begins with an idea, an image, and a feeling that I strive to translate into tangible ceramics. It’s a slow, deliberate process that demands patience and an appreciation for the process over the final outcome.

My primary materials are buff and fine brown stoneware, and I've recently incorporated grey-speckled stoneware into my repertoire. In my designs, perfection is never the goal. Instead, I revel in the imperfect beauty that emerges throughout the journey.
